Why Invincible Works So Well

SPEAKER_03

Big fan of the show. If not, we're gonna have him on hopefully next season. Bro, if we got a chance to stream together, that'd be so good. Or the season after that. Or the season after that. Stay tuned. And guess what? If it doesn't happen that season, it'll be the season after that. Stay tuned. That's right. Stay tuned. Yeah, guys, let's hop right into it. What do we got first?

SPEAKER_00

Invincible, man. Invisible, because I know you guys haven't watched it, so it's not me pitching it, but just like why enjoy it.

SPEAKER_03

I've watched like the first how many seasons are we in right now? Four. Four seasons. We're already on four seasons. Season four, yeah. If I'm not mistaken, I've seen three seasons. The third one ends. How does three season three ends?

SPEAKER_00

We're fighting the one like the biggest, finding like the Napa of their universe. That's how season three ends.

SPEAKER_03

I like that. Huh? That's how season three ends? Yeah. No, I I only watched the first two seasons then. You only watched the first one. Yeah, I know. I I I saw, I listened to the audiobooks. Yeah, for that season. There's audiobooks? Well, you know, like Comic Explained. That's cool. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I know that yeah, yeah. Yeah. Comics Explained guy or whatever. Uh I should know there was an audiobook for Invisible, that's pretty cool. No, no, I'm saying I'm not saying it's not a real audiobook. It's the Comic Explain guy.

SPEAKER_04

Ah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Is that homeboy letters?

SPEAKER_03

The guy that's sectioned, the one that's still alive, not Comic Storing. Comic Story R A P R P Comic Story. To the legend. But yeah, man, but those guys put me on for the entire I mean, it's like an eight-hour video, bro. I watched the entire thing.

SPEAKER_00

Perfect. So this is perfect because this is how much how why I I called Invisible one plot man or one punch man. Yep. It's because like pretty much that, right? Where like, you know, it's like if Mark appears, whatever villain we were talking about, it's death. You know, same thing with the with the with Saitama. So in this case, I enjoy Invincible because of the side characters, you know, their like their personal growth, their superpowers, their abilities, their side stories, and the overall uh part the overall arching plot, which is the great war against the Viltramites, is cool, but you know what's gotta happen, but it's more than like the adventures of the characters along who's who surround the main character Mark in the story. That includes the father figure as well as brothers, like they may not be safe, you know, but for sure where Mark appears, you know, the hero's there. Because he's in the thing, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And then some blood splatter. Bro, if we can clip that perfectly to be like, and it's yeah, it's relatively trust.

SPEAKER_00

So that's why I was like, hey, if you guys, if you guys don't mind that, like, hey, the side characters, then like I recommend the show. Because it's pretty much that. When when Marco appears, but it's very brutal. Like the most recent episode, the again, the Napa of that universe, it's a brutal fight with the with the main character. So I was like, I'm uh I started like purposely like picked up my phone to not see what was going on. And then like I was like, Jesus, this this scene is dragging quite a bit, it's very brutal.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's like very that's the thing about an animated show, right? Yeah, how did it maybe make it brutal, but it's a cartoon?

SPEAKER_00

And it's that American style cartoon where everything's very bright, you know, like shadows are rarely used in American cartoons, you know, like in anime, it's a dark sequence, you can barely see it sometimes. Like the colors are there, like it's opaque, you can't see shit on purpose. Yeah, yeah, yeah. American is like too bright, so you can see everything. And because it's so bright, you're like, oh Jesus Christ, this is still too intense for me, you know. But it's awesome, man. The fightings are awesome, the fights are the awesome. If I can break it down, is season one is all gas. Second season is the break. It's like, hey, you know, season one was a lot. We're gonna build up for season three. Whereas season three, it's like uh again, like all gas.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, interesting. Because I I drop I dropped it during season two. I think I watched like two, maybe three episodes of season two, and I was like, Fair enough. Fair enough, fair enough. Let me watch something else.

SPEAKER_03

Fair enough. It was kind of a slow build for the second season, and it was because it was his first thing going to college, right?

SPEAKER_00

It was more like the mom, the mom coping with the side that she's like considered a dog to the to Omni Man, like as the guy says. So like a lot of that was her like contemplating suicide, finding love again, finding hope.

SPEAKER_02

I think the first season the first season was fire, though. I'll give you that. The first season was fire, and then kind of memes come out of it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Think, Mark. Think the uh the visual representation of the mom going through alcoholism and depression was really interesting. It was done really, really well. It was like dark, sad. You could see the the elements around her that depicted you know how her actually emotional state was. It was good. Yeah, like it was really, really good. I think she was even walking around barefooted and shit. Like it was a whoa moment. And again, I'm like to see that in a in an American cartoon, you know, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That the person who you thought like you you love was Superman, bro, is you know, homeboy from Homelander, you know, on steroids. Homelander, and you just this is the second half of season four, so it's be it's picking up for the Viltramite War. And season four gave you like a taste of what's gonna that gonna look like, which again, I was like, well, this is too intense, you know. For me, I don't know, you know, uh the music getting too loud. But but it was intense. So I'm guessing like, damn, like when they build up to the Viltramite War, it's gonna be crazy. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Were any new characters introduced?

SPEAKER_02

More like revealing backstories, but yeah, like which again leads to the overarching plot of like towards the end, you know, like and I know him is supposed to be really mature because he's in like one of the contrabus episodes or volumes in the comic book, too, where he gets uh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, that hasn't happened yet, but uh I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

I think they may have taken may have taken it out.

SPEAKER_00

Did the female Vilcher might already show up and like Yeah, but she was just there as well the threat and like hey Napa's coming if you don't figure you know do your job.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but she in the comics.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if you wrote him. I don't know, that didn't happen.

SPEAKER_02

Well, it's it's implied in the comic book is I don't know if they uh interaction.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know if it's in their first or their second interaction, but I think she comes back the second.

SPEAKER_00

There's more than one interaction with her. I think it's the second one. Okay because there's a scene where like the main character tells us like, hey, because there's only like three of us left, you did go procreate, but she didn't want to pick a human, so she picks the strongest human that she sees, which is Mark. Mark, but I think that's the second encounter. The first encounter she just shows up and says, Hey, Napa's coming, you better do your job.

SPEAKER_02

Napa's coming. Yeah. That's interesting. So it was Vegeta then.

SPEAKER_00

It's an interesting PowerPoint. Mark, probably Mark. Oh no, Vegeta's a main bad guy, I guess. But I'll just say it's with like, like, okay, look, if if you send Mark, I thought about this. If you send Mark to the DBZ world, he may give Yamcha some trouble. You know?

SPEAKER_01

He may have make him not even Krillin. But chill, bro.

SPEAKER_03

Super Krillin? Dragon about Super Krillin? Nah, bro. Dragon about Super Krillin. Dragon about super krillin' putting the brakes on that ass. But Mark is. But we're talking about Z. We're going off of Z.

SPEAKER_00

Bro, yeah, you Yeah, you know, bro, would I clear the Viltimite?

SPEAKER_02

The Viltimite is supposed to be like fans. They're uh bro, chill. No, no, no, no, that's not the power scale.

SPEAKER_03

They're really interesting, actually. Like their survival shit, man, the way that they're designed.

SPEAKER_00

No, Goku will have a lot of fun. He's that kind of shit that Goku looks forward to. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Kaioken too, Goku will like hold it down.

SPEAKER_02

Just Koken times two? Yeah. No, it's Super Saiyan? No.

SPEAKER_03

If we're going off of based on super power scaling, bro, he's so strong by that point. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But not even regular Super Saiyan?

SPEAKER_00

It's it's like literally, like, if you really like didn't have the time, like, oh shit, dinner's here, but the Vulture Must outside. It's literally one Kamehameha way to destroy just you know, pull uh, you know, uh, Samus and the Smash Bros literally just into the sun. That's all you have to do. But Mark, Mark is Mark will put up a fight against Yamcha.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Mark, yeah, Mark! What about the strongest character in the invincible world?

SPEAKER_00

Napa? Okay, if you put him against Krillin will hold it.

SPEAKER_02

What about that one character, uh, the alien that shows up at the end of season one? It's like, hey, your planet is up for destruction or something.

SPEAKER_00

That's the Napa, that's him. That's it, that's what I'm talking about.

SPEAKER_02

No, Green Creature? Green creature. Voice by Green Creature. Voice by what's his name? He uh Seth Rogan? No, no, no, no. Yes. Nope.

SPEAKER_03

Seth Rogan. Oh, but he's not a green alien. He's like red or orange. You're talking about he talks with his mind. One eye one eye. One eye. He talks with his mind. Remember, he died in the first one, bro. Like in season two, he dies when he comes back to life. Remember?

SPEAKER_02

Well, he's like, hey, I think I got the wrong planet. He comes back to the city. Hanging out on the moon.

SPEAKER_00

That's Seth Rogan. Yes. Yes. What's that character's name? I forgot, but Seth Rogan.

SPEAKER_02

But that's Napa.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_02

No, that's not Napa. No, no.

SPEAKER_00

He would be like.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Nah, he's a side character. No, he's pretty cool. He's pretty interesting. I like that character. He got a sweet character. Seth Rogan's a good character. He's unique, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

No, his character does get strong. What about the beast, the one that has a lion hat?

SPEAKER_00

That's what I mean by side characters. Like he has his oh, he's he also has an awesome, like, he's just just like he's so funny because he was just floating in space for the first motherfucker. Hey, fuck it. He picked me up. Let's just fight. Like, whoa. I thought you were dying. No, no, no. I was thinking. I won. I won that heat.

SPEAKER_02

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

He's crazy. He's crazy. Like this crazy ass lion. First thing he sees, ah, fuck it, I'm fighting it.

SPEAKER_03

There's there is a character who's been like who's like the oldest, one of like the oldest Viltramites or whatever that's still alive, that's uh gonna lead that Viltramite army fight. He's the strongest. He makes Napa get on his knees. He's the real Vegeta as an example later on that we'll see in like even Mark tries to fight him. And I think they even say it like that everybody tries to throw a bows to this fool and it's like nothing. It does nothing to this fool. Eventually he gets to the point where he does end up, you know, go beyond plus ultra and he ends up getting his dub in.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But no, I like it. I like I like Invisible. I recommend it. If you don't mind the side characters, at the end of the day, Mark will show up and save the day. But for the most part, and it is fun. Yeah, it is fun to watch him save the day. He you know, he puts up a fight. Well, you even like something that's rude for him, even though you know, hey, he's gonna win, but like, you know, come on, Mark, stand up.

SPEAKER_03

He still takes battle damage.

SPEAKER_00

That's what I'm saying. Like, hey, get up, stand up, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Just thank Mark.

Meta Animation Talk And Cast Trivia

SPEAKER_00

But uh But so far, so good.

SPEAKER_02

I did like that they have a very meta moment sometime in season two or three, where the seasons were delayed for so long, and there was a lot of criticism, and they have a thing where Mark goes to a convention and talks to a writer, yeah, and uh they break down, and he's like, Well, you gotta think about animation, it takes so long, and sometimes artists do use different angles, or sometimes they don't even show the mouth, the mouth of the character, or the back, or the or they're talking in the back of the head, yeah, in order to shave mouth flaps and budget.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he's like, and then things will happen off screen. Well, that was crazy. Yeah, some shit like that. Yeah, that was cool.

SPEAKER_02

That whole scene, I've seen that scene. I didn't see the episode, but I've seen that scene, and I thought it was a very meta four-wall break. Yeah. To like explain why the season's been delayed. Still, you would think Amazon Prime would have the biggest budget to just do the season.

SPEAKER_00

It's the voice acting. Because there's a lot of big, big voice actors. Like, we're talking about, I believe, about one that was the Oscar winner, homeboy from Whiplash. And he also and he also voices the yellow Edmund. Wait, he does the yellow Emmanuel and he is the Oscar winner.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and the Oscar is yellow. Get it? Dude, that's crazy. Yeah, man. It's him.

SPEAKER_00

And he's also the main guy of We Are Farmers.

SPEAKER_02

What is his name? He also runs a newspaper agency in New York. What is J.

SPEAKER_03

Jonah Jameson? There you go. Jackie Simmons. There you go.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, you didn't say it earlier.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, okay, okay.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't get it. It didn't click. It didn't click. I thought you were giving me the character. I was like, I already named this guy.

SPEAKER_02

It didn't click. It didn't click.

SPEAKER_00

Sorry. No, we play that game. We like to play that game. We're like, name.

SPEAKER_02

No, it's not funny if you have to explain it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Catch on.

SPEAKER_03

If you're listening to your car.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry. If you're running away.

SPEAKER_03

This will be fun.

SPEAKER_00

I've interested in fast too, huh? The moment you hear MMs.

SPEAKER_02

It's like trivia with uh actors, you know? And things.

SPEAKER_03

And things. Alright.

SPEAKER_02

Speaking of actors, you remember that one actor that was on a spaceship that was on a mission to the sun? Bruce Willis.

SPEAKER_00

There's so many. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

No, they it's in a mission to the sun, and everybody in the crew starts going crazy. Oh. Wait, to the sun? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

To the sun.

SPEAKER_02

Who is Chris Pratt? No.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know, bro.

SPEAKER_02

Damn. It's Gillian Murphy. In the movie Sunshine. I never said it. Damn. That's that shit I'm talking about. Okay, he woke. He did wake up 28 days later, though.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. That's supposed to work? Yeah, see, look, if we didn't get the first one, he'd be like, all right, well, he did wake up 28 days later.

SPEAKER_00

And worst case, you pulled like the emergency one where he plays Scarecrow and Nolan's Batman. Oh he was a dog. That would be too obvious. Like that was a good idea. I thought the Sunshine one was good. I was like, but you should have given us like a second one.

Peaky Blinders Movie Review

SPEAKER_02

If you haven't seen Sunshine, it's a really good movie. I think it also stars. It's a good way to pitch a movie, by the way. Does he start Chris Evans? No. I might be wrong. Killian Murphy's for sure in it. And everyone starts going crazy because they're all flying to the sun. And then they end up sabotaging the fucking spaceship and then flies into the sun. Anyway, a completely unrelated topic. Killian Murphy's back this week on Netflix asks the immortal man, the Gypsy King himself.

SPEAKER_00

Can we say that?

SPEAKER_02

It's his character in the TV show. I'm not saying that person in real life. It's his character in the TV show.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Love it. Love it. Threw me the fuck off. Oh shit. So Peaky Blinders, yeah, the peaky. Peaky fucking blinders.

SPEAKER_02

But all the other peaky blinders. I can't do it with Ray Jackson.

SPEAKER_00

I heard I heard that he will like lit a cigarette and then right after, lit another cigarette. Oh yeah, he does the thing. And then right after he lits another fucking cigarette. Like the whole five, six, seven, ten seasons. It's doing him doing that. They're like, Oh yeah, whenever he's crazy. Sometimes he doesn't even finish it. Like it's like two hits, throws it, argues it, and it sparks another one.

SPEAKER_02

Because he has a very specific way that he does a cigarette. He does this, he does this, this, and then he lights it. It'll take a couple of hits. Alright, let's fucking do this. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then he walks out and sparks another cigarette. I'm like, he just threw a perfectly good cigarette. Well, what do I know?

SPEAKER_03

And for continuity, they'll have to replace that cigarette every single time.

SPEAKER_02

I am telling you, brother. But yeah, so what'd you think about it? What is his name in the fucking movie, bro? Peaky Blinder, whole thing. Patches of who the name is Tommy. His name's Tommy. Tommy Shelby. It was gonna fucking fuck with me the whole time. He plays the Tommy Shelby. He's always been the leader of the Peaky Blinders. Six seasons. It was six seasons. It actually got cancelled and got saved by Netflix at some point in the show. Yeah. Yeah. So a little dude unknown fact about the show. It ended a couple years ago, and then they said that they were gonna do a final movie because some people didn't quite like the way it ended. But to me, this movie was mid, to be honest. It was like okay. Was it the ending that our character should have got in? I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Who was the main bad guy? Or what was the main bad guy? The government? Oh, okay, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Uh fascists. Since season one, the main bad guy to be picky blinders have really been fascists. Yeah. Yeah.

unknown

Interesting.

SPEAKER_00

Because first it was the cops, the Scotland Yard, homeboy from Jurassic Park.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but remember, he's in a secret mission. Oh, yeah. In every season, he's on a secret mission to stop fascists and like to stop wars from like happening. Happening. Happening. It's the craziest thing. You know, this gangster in Birmingham is trying to stop wars from happening. And he gets involved with the Russians in season three or four. Yeah. And the Italians in the other season. But at the same time, he gets involved with the fascists, you know, the early uh the early fascist party in England before it became the Nazi Party in Germany. And in this season, we jumped to 1940 something. Oh. So we're in the middle of the war, and he the Nazis are trying to smuggle fake British money into England. So he's trying to stop that undercover operation. Bro, that's wild.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. So that's what this movie's based on? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Stops him?

SPEAKER_02

He does. He does stop.

SPEAKER_00

Who played the main Nazi guy? Is it a famous actor? Is that what we know? Oh, you know what?

SPEAKER_02

It was uh the abomination. Oh he was English. He was not Yes, of course.

SPEAKER_00

He he was also uh one of the characters in Pulp Fiction. Hey, Bunny.

SPEAKER_02

He was. But uh he wasn't the Nazi or anything. Reservoir dogs.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he's an Oscar winner too. My guy's gonna kill me, man.

SPEAKER_03

The fans out there. I put in the comments. Loved it. Loved him as an abomination, though.

SPEAKER_02

I forgot his name. He's not he's not playing in German, though. He's playing just an English guy that's doing it for the money. Oh, okay, okay. He doesn't I don't think he cares about the fascism movement. He's just doing it for the money. Shit, for the he does it for the thrill of it?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

For the love of the game. There's all these nidle drops. Big Landers was kind of known for its music, but in the movie, there's like 16 nidle drops. It's like, why are we doing nittle drops every other scene of a badass song? You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

What is needle drops? I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_02

A needle drop is when they like drop a me a song, you know?

SPEAKER_00

Or like a like a like a band?

SPEAKER_02

Elaborate. A needle drop in a movie or in a scene is where like the a song just starts. And it could be like a popular song or whatever.

SPEAKER_00

Or like a pop modern song.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, like it just comes into like they step out the doors or whatever.

SPEAKER_02

It's like Ace don't give it to you.

SPEAKER_00

He gonna give it to you.

SPEAKER_02

Most of the songs are punk rock. Oh, yeah. It's the UK British thing. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, I see what you're saying. Okay, okay. But in the end, but in the uh in the series, they they use original orchestra music, like original music. I forgot. I got rid of that.

SPEAKER_02

No, it's just like like the the main song and the Here comes this man with a red rye hand.

SPEAKER_00

It should have been Birmingham music. I mean, what do I know?

SPEAKER_02

Songs that kind of fit the story, but it's like they just they just get jammed in there for some reason. I don't know. That's how I felt about it.

SPEAKER_03

They got the musical rights, bro. They're like, oh well, we gotta use the budget.

SPEAKER_00

So what would you give it at the end of the day? Six, seven.

SPEAKER_02

Again, the thing is in the in the movie, Arthur is gone. His older brother, and big spoiler. Should I say the big spoiler?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Spoiler. Spoiler.

SPEAKER_02

We found out in a flashback that Tommy killed Arthur, which does not fit the character at all. Not to me. So uh that's why I that's why. They try to explain it.

SPEAKER_00

Is this your Avon Galeon?

SPEAKER_02

It just doesn't fit. Like And then it's supposed to be like, well, they live a life of violence. So this is where violence ends, right? If you live a by a life of violence and drug addiction and alcoholism, it's gonna end in violence, it's gonna have a bad ending. But it doesn't make sense for Tommy, you know, who cares so much about his family, to have kill his own brother, you know?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, it doesn't make sense. Even though I don't know his character like that, but I can just imagine.

SPEAKER_02

Anyways, what do I give it? Maybe a seven.

SPEAKER_00

Six seven!

SPEAKER_02

Maybe a seven. Maybe a seven. Yeah. There you go, man. So anyways, still check it out on Netflix. I mean, if you watch six seasons of it, you might as well watch another hour of it.

Plot Twists Versus Big Reveals

SPEAKER_03

He said it's wildly mediocre, Jid. Ladies and gentlemen, go and check it out for that hard seven. Speaking of six seven, you know, the movie seven actually had a great plot twist.

SPEAKER_00

Was it seven or six?

SPEAKER_03

It was seven. Exactly. I don't know, I'm just saying.

SPEAKER_00

I thought it was the sixth cents. Oh, that's a good one too. Damn. All right. I was just, you know, I'll leave me a segue.

SPEAKER_02

No, but his segue. Okay, my bad. Yes was the segue.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, my bad, my bad. Are you going with you going with because what was the plot twist in movie seven?

SPEAKER_03

At the very end, you didn't actually think that homeboy was gonna have his Well Well the plot twist was that his wife was dead and in the box.

SPEAKER_02

But to me, that's not a plot twist. That's more like a reveal. Yeah. That's the argument that I make. Seven doesn't have a plot twist. It has a big reveal at the end. Well, you never see it.

SPEAKER_03

The reveal for me was.

SPEAKER_02

That they're gonna kill his wife?

SPEAKER_03

No, no, no, no. You never see her head in the box. Oh, well, that's not a plot twist. That's just uh but that's the reveal in my mind.

SPEAKER_00

But that's the difference. What are you talking about? Are you talking about reveal or you're talking about plot twist?

SPEAKER_02

Reveal reveal that his wife was dead. Now, a lot of people call seven a plot twist.

SPEAKER_00

But I'm like, Is it really I say the sixth cents is more of an idea of a plot twist, but like I didn't know that Bruce Willis was dead. Yeah, no. Plot twist.

SPEAKER_03

If you saw the Sixth Sense coming in that plot twist, you're phenomenal. Yeah, first off, you're a liar.

SPEAKER_02

Or you're a liar, you're a liar. Anybody that said they saw it coming is because they heard about it from somebody else. No, I'm subconsciously heard about it.

SPEAKER_03

I'm gonna keep it 100. My girl said that she's seen it, and she's like within the first 30 minutes.

SPEAKER_02

It's been out for so long that she's her subconscious. I'm telling you, her subconscious must have heard it from somebody else.

SPEAKER_00

You had to be there the first time.

SPEAKER_02

Like it's it's so ingrained in popular culture. I see dead people that her subconscious already knows the meaning of that phrase.

SPEAKER_03

So y'all have never been into a movie with somebody that you were excited to show them and you were like, you're never gonna guess the ending.

SPEAKER_02

Not the sixth sense. I'm sorry, because I see dead people has become such a big part of popular culture, and you know the line means something. If you go into the sixth sense without knowing the line, it's just a throwaway line.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but I'm not saying that she saw it when she was like 20 and then like she guessed the ending. When did she see it? Back whenever we were kids. That's what I'm saying. Like, so you I've never had anybody like that who's just been good at guessing a movie ending? Never? Well, that's the thing.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I always call BS and I can say some consciously know about it second hand.

SPEAKER_03

Bro, there are people that like I've told them, like, okay, here's a stupid one, stupid funny as far as the comedy goes. That's my boy. You guys remember that's my boy, Adam Sandler, and he Sandberg. I didn't know about it. I never watched that movie. Okay, and it's the guy who ends up fucking his seat chair at a young age, ends up getting her pregnant, and he's like 14, though, and she's like 28 or something like that, or 30. She keeps the kid.

SPEAKER_00

Wait, what are we talking about now? Let me finish. Okay. Let me finish.

SPEAKER_03

They end up growing up, right?

SPEAKER_02

He's gonna bring it back around. I swear to God.

SPEAKER_03

They end up growing up, they're like 12 years apart from each other. Okay, right? In the end, his kid is her fiance, his fiance, they're gonna get married. You end up finding out in the story that she's fucking her brother, not stepbrother, biological brother, right? Never saw that coming. Nobody would ever see, not to me, bro. There were weird moments, but I was like, never saw it coming. I saw I told this to one of my coworkers, he's he's not even into this movie, not even into this shit remotely. Not at all. And I was like, you're never gonna guess the ending. Let me know what you think about it. I'm thinking it's gonna be funny. He's like, bro, within 10 minutes, I knew what the fuck was gonna happen already. He's like, I called it. And he's like, I I knew exactly. I was like, you're not fun to watch movies with them, bro. Like, that was the one of the.

SPEAKER_02

It's an Adam Sandler movie, Roy. No way is that complicated.

SPEAKER_03

I'm just saying, if you would have guessed, brotherfucker, I mean you're you know, you're better for.

SPEAKER_00

Five clubs are Figh Club, whatever the fuck this is. This motherfucker's talking about Flatwist, uh Figh Club, for sure. That's one of like the OG ones. Have you ever seen that one?

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Fight Club is top top top three movies.

unknown

I don't like that.

SPEAKER_02

We're talking about movies that are in the history of cinema. And he comes up with a dark Adam Side movie. I said it was a comedy.

SPEAKER_03

I said it was stupid. I made that, I gave you the pretext before I even got into it. Fair enough. But Fight Club is hands down. One of my first like dark plot twists that I got into, it's what really got me into like appreciating film was that movie, but that plot twist to me was phenomenal. I thought it was great. What about you guys?

SPEAKER_00

I I that's not another one that I didn't see coming either, you know, at all. Like I was like, oh shit. Oh, Fight Club, I didn't see coming out. I was like, oh, that was him the whole time. And it was kind of hard at first to like uh that to be convinced that it was like that. I wasn't like shocked because some of it just didn't make sense. Like they they just like trust trust that it was in his head, you know? Yeah. Kind of like him talking to himself and dropping the beer bottle, like they kind of like ruined like specific scenes that I was like, ah, my my there's too much reveal, you know.

SPEAKER_02

You have to kind of like disconnect a little bit to like go back and watch it again because like didn't it make sense? But it's a good reveal. And then you think about it, the girl that he's messing with in the movie.

SPEAKER_00

That made it fun. That made it funny.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, can you imagine this poor girl? He's one person one time, and in the morning he's a completely different person. Yeah. And then she keeps coming back. The fact that she keeps coming back.

SPEAKER_03

It had to be good now. No, man, but uh, that was amazing. That was dark though. Again, it was a real cult. Like, I never saw that one coming. Yeah. But the fact that that's how it that's how it ends up as a freaking cult. Never saw it coming. Anyway, honorable mention Smoking Asis.

SPEAKER_00

Smoking Asus is a good reveal. The very end was the man by guy was an FBA asset on purpose. Yeah. He was he was an undercover FBI agent who went in as a mafia as like a capo, but he got in too deep in becoming the boss and just ran the mafia.

SPEAKER_02

And then Yeah, because he got he got betrayed by his by this by the FBI agent, right? He got betrayed, he got shot, and he was so deep in that he just became the the the capo.

SPEAKER_00

The capo, yeah. He just thought he was a tiny.

SPEAKER_02

They were trying to put him in they were trying to put him in witness protection, but you find out that he's actually the the FBI agent.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And then Ron Reynolds, like, just didn't want to agree to that. He like the machine. Uh kills everybody, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And then a good needle drop at the end of that scene. Yeah. Anyways, uh, so those are your top five plot twists of all time. Six cents, seven, that's my boy, smoking aces. Oh, I did want to give him fight club.

SPEAKER_03

I wanted to give an honorable mention, bro. There was the one starring uh the Joker, the the old school one, the original Joker.

SPEAKER_02

Zach Nicholson.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. With the guy who wanted to be king of the world, fucking something happened to him on a boat. Leo DiCaprio. Yes. Shutter Island.

SPEAKER_02

No, uh close. Shutter Island. That's a good plot. That's a good honor. That one stars the guy who The Hulk could see ghosts. Fell in love with a ghost in that one apartment? Patrick Facey. Patrick Facey? The Hulk. Oh, my God. We both play Patrick Tracy. It is not Patrick Facey.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, you're talking about the departed. The departed. Thank you, sir.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. The departed.

SPEAKER_03

Some of the games were working, bro. Like, what did you think?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yes.

unknown

That ending?

SPEAKER_00

Yes. But the plot twist was the one where it was that Jack Nicholson's character, although looking for the rat, was a rat himself pitching to the FBI, but the cop he put there, and that was his bargaining chip. That was the plot to me. Yeah. Not so much that DiCaprio. The thing was more shocking was DiCaprio's death and then the other guy's death, too. Homeboy that was in Kangaroo Jack.

SPEAKER_03

Not modern family. Yes. Corey Holcomb.

SPEAKER_00

Is that his name?

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. I'm just guessing. If I can't remember.

SPEAKER_00

I remember him from Kangaroo Jack. That's another really deep cut right there. If I'm right on that, I'm gonna Google that after that. There's your name is gonna be episode. The guy from Kangaroo Jack. Yeah.

Yeah, Killer Manjaro, double kill, triple kill. Y'all remember that. I was a big fan. I played Halo a lot back in the day. Also from the Matrix series Lawrence Fishburne.

SPEAKER_02

I'm really excited to probably meet him. That one would be a cool one to meet. Show me. Show me. Steve from Blues Clues. Shout out Steve. Shout out Steve. It's cool that he does this thing on TikTok. After the pandemic, he kind of does a video where he's like, hey, it's been a while. Blues. How are you? What's been up? And then the video kind of like goes. Blues for like a minute. It gives you that time. Without the sound effect, but he kind of gives you that time to like unload mental health.

SPEAKER_03

It matters, man. Sometimes people just need that.

SPEAKER_02

I think there's there's some powerful videos. It's a good social service. Also, uh Spanish actor Edward James Almos. Edward James Almos. I'm also a big fan of Battlestar Galactica. That's right, man.

SPEAKER_03

It's exciting to hear that they're showing international love to voice actors. So very, very cool.

SPEAKER_02

I've seen that in a lot of other cons too, where they're bringing the Mexican voice actors for One Piece. I saw it for One Piece.

SPEAKER_03

I think I did see something for One Piece.

SPEAKER_02

They brought Nami. Nami, he's been to Houston a couple of times.

SPEAKER_03

SPEAKER_02

And they brought some other One Piece actors as well. That's dope. Rain Wilson from The Office. Dwight. Rain Wilson. That's right. Yeah. I'm not an Office fan, but he's coming. Yeah. And who was the last one on my list?

SPEAKER_02

He did that for so many seasons. Bro, he did it so long.

SPEAKER_03

Like he played straight, then his character went crazy, and then he did the crazy role for a long time. Damn, dude. That's nuts.

SPEAKER_02
