Awkward Opener And Season Milestone
SPEAKER_02And that's the key for evening, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you so much for joining us here on the WBM podcast. This week it's your boy Mark. It's your boy X-Fan. Welcome back, everybody's here. And it's your boy, Oscar.
SPEAKER_01In the minute. In the minute. And we're talking about each other. It's that type of episode. We're back, 2026. Damn, boys.
SPEAKER_00I tell you what. In here, I tell you what.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, man. Quick recap on some wild things, I guess. I guess we're gonna talk about Stranger Things. Uh, we are a couple weeks late. Oh, yeah. Well, by now, you and your mama and her mama should have watched it.
SPEAKER_00So no spoilers. You guys don't have to worry about it. Shey more friendship. Purple rain. Sweet episode, y'all.
SPEAKER_03Here we go.
SPEAKER_01Well, that had to be that had to be the most awkward intro we'd done since like year one. You know, go back to season one. Go back to season one to hear some awkward shit.
SPEAKER_03I wonder if the first episode was as rough as that. You know what I'm saying? I'm so curious. Thinking back now. Don't believe me. Go check it out yourself.
SPEAKER_00Good time, baby. Guys, what season is it now for us? Season five, just like the six. Season.
Setting The Agenda: Stranger Things
SPEAKER_01Remember, 2026, season six. We're literally in line with the 20s, you know? He's not wrong. That's right, yeah. Welcome back, y'all. So this will be our six years doing a podcast. Let's go! Can we give much higher? This will be your sixth year of failing forward. Let's go.
SPEAKER_03You already know, baby. Pushing it forward? That's right.
SPEAKER_00This is how it starts, man. Gotta start somewhere.
SPEAKER_03Absolutely. That's right. Back from ground one, back here from the bottom, ladies and gentlemen.
SPEAKER_00A longer franchise than what just ended on Netflix. Boja$20 a month?
SPEAKER_01No, bro. We're like stranger things, bro. We just don't know when to stop. No, man. A podcast that should have been canceled in season three. We went six seasons.
SPEAKER_03Best part about it is it's so funny.
SPEAKER_00This is our sci-fi uh episode.
SPEAKER_01We're trying to do uh a callback to our Christmas special. In other words, you have a podcast. Am I right? Am I right? You're gonna do the the Brady uh character look to the camera. The four-wheel break, you know.
SPEAKER_03Stranger Things, man. The ending.
SPEAKER_01I love the 90s uh, you know. And staring Asuki.
SPEAKER_03Oh, because of the the credits underneath the names.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. And then a laugh track in the background. There you go. Not that one.
SPEAKER_02Not that one.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, orange, orange, orange.
SPEAKER_02That one.
SPEAKER_01Still not in, but there it is.
SPEAKER_00It was all a build up to the laughter. And introduce it.
SPEAKER_01Anyways, uh, we're gonna talk about senior things. Spoilers ahead.
SPEAKER_03The season, man. It started out, I thought, on a on a good note, on a high note, but I don't know if it was just the anticipation of me like wanting to watch it.
First Impressions Of Season Six
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you know what? There were a lot of problems with it. I did think that it was interesting, like you said, the first three episodes. In the first three episodes, we we see that Will has powers, right? By the end of the episode three. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, because when he jumped from that one tree to the other tree, Dash Yeah was supernatural, bro. Remember, he was climbing, they were chasing his ass, and then he was like, but he still fell? That's the beginning of the uh that's how it started. Season six remember? None? Will that's how they uh see up started as a flashback to season one. Right when he gets kidnapped and what's going on when he was like, you know, out there crying in the corner, you know. I don't even know.
SPEAKER_01Let's not even talk about the whole season. Let's talk about that finale. That final two-hour movie.
SPEAKER_03Ao T ass Build up for what have an ass. AOT, bro. At least that they had epic fights, the shit went down. There was, you know, there was a big bad bad almost similar, but if not way better. You know what I'm saying? As far as character design.
SPEAKER_01But it was have you been watching like the documentary about the the Duffer brothers? The making of the making of. I don't know why they even released that because it makes them look it makes them look terrible. Yeah, like they went into making the season without finished drafts for the scripts. They're on the writer's room using Chat GPT to like write the ending.
SPEAKER_03To help come up with ideas. There's a writer on the in the room who's saying there needs to be demogorgons, bats, dogs, something, Dimension X. And he's like, it'd be weird if there would be nothing, right? And you see one of the brothers be like, And just completely ignoring. That's all he says.
Upside Down Logic And Monsters Missing
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because it's like if we go into the demo world, you would think they call it Dimension X, right? Or whatever. Yeah, Dimension X. If we go into the that world, there'll be like, you know, demo things in that world.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because this is where they're being sent from, right? If the if the upside down is just a bridge, that's not there where they originate from. And it'd be weird if that's where they got sent. Uh, because that's again, like, if this is where their the main base is, the mother of it all, why are they just here in the middle?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so I think that's just a big plot hole.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it doesn't make any sense, man.
SPEAKER_01But the funny thing is they do bring it up in the writer's room, somebody's like, eh, what am I be? And then he did ex one of the Dauphin brothers did explain in an interview, it's like, well, Beckna never ever thought that they would invade him like that. It's like, well, even if he didn't think that, there will be like them with things somewhere.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's it's weird. Like, where there would be a nest, there would be a mother of these things besides whatever Vecna, because uh or the ups, what is it, the the mind flare is, right? I mean, it'd be something totally different, you would think.
SPEAKER_00Because now that you guys bring it up, it it does make me realize that where the bats when they killed Eddie. Remember those bats that killed Eddie?
SPEAKER_01The bats were a big deal.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Remember, going to the upside down was supposed to be this whole big dangerous thing. Yeah. And in season, in the last season, we're just coming in and out of the upside down like nothing.
SPEAKER_00Exploring it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I think when a character said it, what's her name? The uh what's her name? One of the older, the older girls. Gotta forget names now.
SPEAKER_00Oh, the girl, the the girl starter? No, dude, that character, again, okay, go ahead, go ahead, go ahead. Rock and Robin, we'll get back to it.
SPEAKER_01Rockin' Robin. Rockin' Robin said it. It's like they ask her, hey, is it okay through like breedy and all this stuff? Oh, yeah. That's right.
SPEAKER_03She brings it up.
SPEAKER_01And they said she breaks it up and she's like undetermined. But in previous seasons it was. Like going through the upside down was supposed to be toxic and it were like waking you over time.
SPEAKER_03That's what I was thinking. I was like, why do they have suits? Because I like uh again, I started rewatching the season because I had never seen it from beginning to end. And when I started watching, I was like, man, isn't the spores supposed to be a big deal? What was the portion?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and then we completely the spores are not even like, you know, you'll be okay.
SPEAKER_03They came into it with 250 days of shooting, they said, and it wasn't gonna be enough time for eight episodes. Why? And again, when they got to the eighth episode, there was no finished script on that day. They were still making it up as it went along. It is ridiculous, dog. That the amount of time that they had from basically COVID, you know what I'm saying? To write this script. And I didn't feel like I don't even know what happened, bro.
SPEAKER_00Am I crazy? No, man, because i i'm I agree 100% with you on that one, because if you see Stranger Things like a series of a trilogy from an 80s movie, part one of the Stranger Things would be up to season three, you know, movie one. Movie two will be Vecna. That's what I will call it, you know? And this week third trilogy will be The Return of Vecna.
SPEAKER_01You know? Because on the return of Vecna, we found out that he's working in leagues with the Mind Flare, which part one was the mind flare.
SPEAKER_00The Mind Flair, yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's actually I don't know.
SPEAKER_00So you guys bring up a lot of great points because as you uh mentioned earlier about what about we need demons, we need uh demogorgas, we need the dogs. But they were only like five. When previous season they were showing like there were hounds of these, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. The demobats was like a whole horde. Everything was in horde.
Writer’s Room Rumors And Loose Scripts
SPEAKER_00No, you guys bring that up, and then how the guys just hmm, you know, I didn't think about he he I think he really wanted to incorporate the army aspect of it, you know. They were so in focus with the idea of like 11 and for some self-sacrifice, you know, like oh, in Greenland, which is why we want to be there, you know. I get it. Bro thought it was a documentary. He's like, bro, we need to go out there and get her.
SPEAKER_01Oh Lord.
SPEAKER_03No, man, I think the max, how many how many demogorgons did we see this season? I think at one point, whenever Vecna showed up, there was like what three or five?
SPEAKER_01In that in the final battle at the end of episode three. There was like what the demo gorgons fighting the army.
SPEAKER_03That was the that was the one.
SPEAKER_01That was like six or something.
SPEAKER_03Okay, I'll say six, right?
SPEAKER_01And then there was one following the kids, and there was another one following the radio station.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_01So there were a bunch of demo gorgons at that point.
SPEAKER_03Where did they go?
SPEAKER_01And in the in the other part, they send the demo dogs to kill Max at the hospital. Right. So these demo things are are there somewhere.
SPEAKER_00I think they'd be roaming around, but there was like none after the last two episodes, you know?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that that's the part that they had it in the first half, none in the second half.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And if the one that they did bring up was dead, and it was one. Yeah. So I'm like, man, for a series about monsters, there was no monsters.
SPEAKER_01You know what that's the thing? Like, I think that's the biggest plot hole that makes you mad. Yeah. Like, what? If you go back and watch some of the earlier seasons, it really had a horror like aspect to it. And then it became too much about action and stuff. And this season was heavy on the like action aspect of it instead of any horror effect. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And but even then, everything in the build-up was so Game of Thronesy. You know what I'm saying? Like, Vecna gets stabbed, and then why does Will's mom give the final blow with the axe? Yeah, bro. I mean, I get it. I she's dope. I'm not doing her.
SPEAKER_00That's my favorite part, actually.
SPEAKER_03But like I actually like that part. Yeah, actually.
SPEAKER_00But my reasoning is what I'm like.
SPEAKER_03Okay, cool. I'll I'll give you alright. So you don't mess with family, alright? I'll give you, we don't mess with family. It's because it's it's Fast and the Furious, right? That's why. That's why.
SPEAKER_01Like every time she swinged the axe, it cut to a character that had lost something. And then you see like Steve, who hasn't didn't lose anything to Becna, just standing in the background. You know, Steve Steve is funny as a character because he's like, he doesn't have any real reason to like hate Becna other than he's just alone for the ride. That's it, bro.
SPEAKER_03I mean for the kids. He's a good stepdad. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01He's been fighting them the whole time, but he could just as easy walk away. He doesn't have any. He was a big kid. He has no stake in the game, he has no stake in Begna, yeah.
Upside Down Threat Levels Inconsistent
SPEAKER_00I guess he's the action hero, like the hero, you know, like the the champion per se. Like he was uh the high school bully turned, you know, defensive of you know Dustin and them. Like that was one of the best duo shifts right there. Dustin and and Steve. Eddie's cool, yeah, but originally it was Steve and Dustin.
SPEAKER_03Steve and Dustin being comrades like the entire time and like best of buds the whole way through was always. I didn't like the fighting, bro. I didn't like the fighting.
SPEAKER_01I like that they carried that all the way through the me too.
SPEAKER_03Now, what I do think was interesting was that their emotional moment that they actually had sold. Like that was a good moment in my man in my mind that Steve said the shit out loud that nobody else would really say, bro. He was just like, he died a hero playing a hero when we told his ass not to be a hero. Yeah. And you doing the same shit.
SPEAKER_02And he was like, Oh, he did what? Yeah, he did what?
SPEAKER_03Bro, I thought in my mind, I was like, oh, those are fighting words, obviously. Yeah, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_00I guess they were trying to wrap a lot of the relationships, like Nancy and Homeboy, like they break up, which I don't even get why they would break up. Like, will you not marry me? Like, bro, the what? We're about to die, bro. There was what? And then Will, right? Will was funny because I remember seeing the TikTok comment saying the world's about to end. This guy's thinking about Dick. You know, like a lot of relationships at the time don't make sense. The only one that made sure was with another writers and uh what's his name? The guy? What's his name? The cop after, but no, no, no, even that was weird to me because Hopper should have been like in the corner, like I lost my second daughter. Like, he should have been like the most like distraught.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yeah, he should have been broken. Yeah, no, but it also just had a little bit of character development that he wasn't broken. But how that he accepted Eleven's decision. That's crazy.
SPEAKER_03How does he kill all these military dudes solo dolo by himself?
SPEAKER_01That's the other plot. It's like, bro, you walk away from your old job. Like, you know, black uh they like killed a whole black op squad.
SPEAKER_00Nancy, Nancy as well, bro. Like you after Tank came up, did a terrorist attack, too, like 10 soldiers. She's a high school child.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you know.
SPEAKER_00I don't think they would just let him go without like mold down professional soldiers was crazy to me, you know.
SPEAKER_03In my mind, that was insane.
SPEAKER_00Unnecessary, in my opinion. You know, poor guys. They probably didn't want to be there, bro. But they're about to clock out.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they got they got wives and daughters and sons. Yeah, yeah. And then they drive away.
SPEAKER_00And then homegirl from Terminator, which I thought that was kind of cool. I thought that was cool. Yeah. Sarah Condition was a good one.
SPEAKER_01I don't think she has the acting chops for it anymore.
SPEAKER_03Nah, they just got it for the name, more or less than anything else. But again, I'm like, She scared me. But again, did she live? Did she die? Did she get fired from her job? What happened to the pregnant lady?
SPEAKER_01She's four feet tall, so she's playing against one of the other soldiers. And you see the camera angle go from this to like.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know, you see the camera angle like switch up when all of a sudden she's taller. Yeah. Like, what are we doing? She don't make a damn sense.
SPEAKER_00What happened to the babies? You know, the pregnant woman.
SPEAKER_01All the pregnant ladies. There were supposed to be like 20 pregnant ladies at the base in the upside down. I guess they all just gone, too. They all died for sure. They didn't make it out. Like, there's no way. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00They did the whole vacuum thing, you know? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Was this the babies you were talking about? But okay. There were like a bunch of pregnant ladies, remember?
Finale Focus: Action Over Horror
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, they didn't evacuate. Definitely not in time. Damn, bro. So many plums, but this shit was trash. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_01Nancy and Will. Because we did talk about Nancy and Will. Their breakup doesn't make sense if you think into a fact the timeline. Because remember, season six is a year and a half, 18 months after the end of season five. Yeah. They were having problems in season five. So you've been telling me for a year and a half they'd be in like awkward with each other. It just doesn't make sense.
SPEAKER_03It doesn't make sense.
SPEAKER_00And the Miss Homeboy from California, I forgot his name. Yeah, no reference of him. It never occurred, bro. He just I guess you were sticking the spotlight, you know.
SPEAKER_03He was really, I liked him, man. He was a favorite character for me, you know, as far as the next season came. And to see him, even if he would have died off screen, something of reference would have been cool. I think there was one shot, but they don't even show his face, but it's like the back of him, and that's the only reference they have to him, and they just keep going. But we did anybody ever find out why he never came back?
SPEAKER_01That reminds me of the uh homeboy that place Mike, he he hosted SNL this past weekend. Uh and he made a sketch about certain things, and they call out some of the plot holes. I did say something about that, yeah. Like someone who sketches like a spin-off, and it's Mike and Dustin and and the other one reunite, and they're talking about Dustin brings up Remember that girl that helped us save the world that I was dating for like a little bit and was never brought up again?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, the girl with the glasses, right? They say they broke up off screen, and I'm like, okay.
SPEAKER_01And then the spin-off is supposed to be uh it's like a sex in the city, but it's stranger things. He goes like, and after that, my sex like has been a never ending still. Look at the sketch. Like it's only three weeks of this after Stranger Things mean outly, and even the cast of Stranger Things is like doing sketches. Because they're looking at the reels, they're looking at the memes, bro.
SPEAKER_00Three weeks after. It really ended in season three. Like, let's be honest, it ended in season three. Hopper died, and 11 got a chance to live a child, a child's life.
SPEAKER_03No, you said the original one, or not the original one. When you said originally, I thought I heard you say that season four was where they ended at. When Vector got shot with the shoddy.
SPEAKER_01Well, that was season five at the end of season five.
SPEAKER_03That'd be the sequel.
SPEAKER_00Like, they had the sequel. Like, to me, like movie one, which is season one, two, three, is perfect because Hopper dies, but he was in Russia, apparently, too. Like, then he dies.
SPEAKER_01I really like that Russia, like apparently was just cleaned up after season four. I really like the I really like the Russia connection. Uh, the introduction of Backdown was great. Max's uh older brother, I thought was a great character that they should have somehow kept.
SPEAKER_00Which is why, because the whole point of like Oh, at that point they were still fighting the mind flayer. Yeah, too.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the battle at the mall was the end of season three.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They reference that one a lot. I see like when people make the highlight clips or whatever, like it's it's always goes back to that. Like, that was a really action-packed season, they say. Like the Battle at the Mall. Yeah, I think it was a big one.
SPEAKER_01They kept some of the horror elements when they got it really like action-packed.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because the people were bursting when they were fucking just turning into freaking jelly or whatever, and they were just combining more and more. I'm like, damn, those are people. Yo, that's crazy. I thought that was a creepy, scary concept. I'm like, oh, that's really cool. And I'm like, okay, so we did the exact same thing. They should have kept that going a little bit. Yeah, but they didn't even do that. They got like a gross version of it in in the void or the uh Dimension X or whatever.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, like a bone version of it.
SPEAKER_03I mean, the exact same thing, bro. Um, it doesn't make an and inside was Vecna.
SPEAKER_01Like cool. With no defense. And this whole idea of the Mind Flair and Vecna are connected. Yeah. And like one's controlling the other, but not really.
SPEAKER_03It would have been cool had he actually been corrupted by the little meteor and been like, or the piece of the fragment or whatever the hell it was. Like, and this was, you know, oh, this is what corrupted him, and you know the kid possibly could have been saved, and maybe he can join us to beat the thing. That would have been a better ending, bro.
SPEAKER_01Even that. And you know, some of the fan theories, like everyone had all these fan theories about all these crazy plot twists, but in the end, the ending was just pretty straightforward. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was the most let's make a plan. Let's go after Beckna. Let's kill Bekna. They kill Becna.
SPEAKER_03The only time you clinched your booty hole in that entire season was Steve fell off the tower for that brief five-second gap of darkness, and you're like, oh no, bro.
SPEAKER_01And at that point you knew it was a fake out. They're not gonna kill anybody.
SPEAKER_03If they saved him, and then I was like, oh, okay.
Character Arcs That Don’t Add Up
SPEAKER_01Nobody's died, nobody's dying. Like if Nancy and Will didn't die, or Nancy and Will's older brother didn't die, then nobody's gonna die. Because that would have been a good moment for Nancy and uh uh the boy to die. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03It was a soft ending, you know what I'm saying? Like, even the I think the Dopher brothers even said that like in an interview. They were like, man, at the table read, there was so many people, and they were like, damn, we really should have killed some of you guys off. And I'm like, it was like a nice, just big happy bow on everything.
SPEAKER_01And it was they should have they should have killed some characters off.
SPEAKER_03It was very lackluster.
SPEAKER_00Like everybody would have heard like Steve and then when he fell off the beach. No, that was it. That wasn't cool.
SPEAKER_03If they started like that, I'm like, if they if they killed him, I'm like, everybody's dying. Yeah, everybody's dying if Steve dies.
SPEAKER_01But again, if Steve dies, like Dustin would have got him broken.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think again, he would have pulled an Eddie for sure. Again, that would have made sense for him. Everybody tries to play.
SPEAKER_01I mean, if Eddie, if Steve dies and Dustin goes depressed, he's gonna try to play the hero. And if he died, yeah, that would have been good.
SPEAKER_03Uh again, we're making better endings, bro. Just always better at it, bro. And then how about Conspiracy Gate, bro? That shit. Conspiracy gay? Oh no, Conformity Gay? Conformity gay. Conformity gay.
SPEAKER_01Like this whole ending is just a Bagner dream. Oh man. That's conformity gain. There's gonna be a secret episode. Yeah, there's a secret episode. Conformity gain is the whole this whole idea that episode eight is all of it is Begner's dream. And then everybody's inside Begner's dream. And then there's supposed to be a secret episode that comes out. But uh, of course, the secret episode never came out.
SPEAKER_03It would have been cool. It would have been cool. Like I said, that would have been the major, like these guys are masterminds. You know what I'm saying? Like, that would have been epic.
SPEAKER_01Or how about the idea that one of the fruit brothers got the boars and that the wife was the one that actually's been helping them ride the ghostwriter of Stranger Things.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that she was a ghostwriter on the entire series, and yeah, she was the whole secret sauce. It's looking like it.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Because at the end of those plot holes, especially the one you just picked out, I didn't even realize you're right.
SPEAKER_01No, that's not to say I didn't like some stuff in the final episode. Like, 'cause even watching it, at the end I I did cry a little bit.
SPEAKER_00Whenever there It was the wrap-up, yeah, the wrap-up.
SPEAKER_01The wrap-up, whenever they're all sitting around the DD table and they kind of all put up their books.
SPEAKER_00That was the best one, you're right.
SPEAKER_03And Will is breaking down, he's like, you know, Will the Wisser went on to I'll never work another job after this. That's what he said. He was crying in real life, bro. That was real heartbreak on the screen. He was like, damn, they ain't gonna hire me for a month after this, bro.
SPEAKER_01No, but that was a good moment. That was a good moment. The way we wrapped it up is like, you know, homeboy and homegirl, they you know, lived their love story. He went up to explore whatever, and he went on to find his own place where he could be accepted. Mike's the only way he did a happy ending. Yeah, the way he broke it down per character, like really hit emotionally.
SPEAKER_03Except Mike. He just said, fuck Mike. I'm not worried about that guy, bro. He had his fun, he had 11 for you know a few years, he's fine.
SPEAKER_01Well, he's talking, he's the one narrating, so he's the one that he goes on to write stories based on his characters. You remember?
SPEAKER_03What out of 11 though, bro?
SPEAKER_01Like everyone gives 11 her happy ending.
SPEAKER_03It's him and Will end up really getting together later on. Is that what it is? I get it, bro. It makes sense.
SPEAKER_00Purple rain.
SPEAKER_01What I'm saying is that scene actually worked as a wrap up to like explain where all the characters go. It wasn't terrible. Aside from that scene that was really emotional, I think Purple Rain.
SPEAKER_03The use of purple rain was a good thing.
SPEAKER_01The use of purple rain like made me cheer up.
SPEAKER_03Just very That's the thing that got me too, man. They only kissed one time this entire season. I think it's because she's married. She's married now, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think she just had a baby actually, too. But they were like, oh shit, that's right. They are in a relationship. And he is, he has to say goodbye. Yeah.
Stakes Without Sacrifice
SPEAKER_03He got one kiss this entire season, bro. But but but of course, when you go back to earlier seasons, they're making out with each other like every scene, dog. Yeah. So I'm like, that was a relationship. That was a that was a young relationship for those kids.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that makes sense. And that's the thing that you see him as kids when they do the flashback as little kids, and now they're grown ass man, you know. And so it's like, oh, we watched him grow up. You know, you've been in like six seasons, I mean five seasons. It really was like a 10-year gap between them them growing up. So it's like, and I say it's like 11 is 20. She's 21. She has a kid, and I'm like, I think she adopted a kid or something. But it's still like 10 years ago, you were 11, it's crazy, you know? Yeah. But you know, 11 plus 10. 21. What is this? What is this? 21! That's my new one, bro.
SPEAKER_01That's uh, I mean, that's most of the plot holes that I think I could think of. Well, the other plot hole, of course, is in the final battle. It's like, hey, let's go fight the Mind Flare. Let's all post up at the top of these like really high mountains.
SPEAKER_03How did they climb up there so fast? They're superheroes.
SPEAKER_00And they were throwing balloons at the fucking thing. Why did it take them so long to climb up that tower? But not American man missiles, artillery.
SPEAKER_01But at that point at that point we were being nitpicky because the thing about that is like, man, sometimes you just gotta suspend this belief. It's like, sure. Yeah, they just climb up to the top of this mountain and kill the mind flyer. Again, in the moment. So at that point we're being nitpicky.
SPEAKER_03No, I'm not gonna lie. First watch, I didn't even notice it. It wasn't until it was called to my attention. I was like, And it was just the mind flyer.
SPEAKER_00There was no other like defense, like there was no hound dogs, no bats, like, I don't know, man. We got robbed. I feel like I'm paying too much for Netflix for like not enough monsters. It should have been them and the board scarface and everything.
SPEAKER_01That was one of the fan theories. It's like one of the other scientists that actually liked 11 should have came back and maybe defeated the general and taken over the military operation, and then the military would have helped 11 on the team, and that would have made more sense. Like the military coming in with 11 to Dimension X and defending against them or Gorgons while 11 fights inside the Mind Flayer.
SPEAKER_00Because he died in season four, right? You know?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But I mean, if they're Papa. If they could bring Hopper back from the dead, they could bring anybody back from the dead. I mean, that would have been that would have been a bigger plot twist, yeah. Yeah. I mean, they brought back eight. Nobody liked eight. I totally forgot. Was it eight or seven?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I thought it was like eleven.
SPEAKER_00She's like, hey, we gonna kill each other after all.
SPEAKER_03No, eleven's eleven. No, my bad. You're right.
SPEAKER_00You wanna kill yourself? Everything you suffered? Whatever, I don't know.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03No, you know what? Okay, you know the one guy that I loved who was a comic relief the entire time for every single arc in the season was Homeboy Who Spoke Russian. I can't think of his freaking name. Yeah, season four. From the other guys three, four. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I cannot think of his freaking connection, their smuggler. Yeah, the smuggler. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00If you guys know what the Oh, yeah, David, or what was his name or something, right? I can't think of anything. Yeah, the little patch. He was full fighting the bald guy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03The bald guy, yeah. Yeah, yeah. He was hilarious. But why didn't no no Russians ever came after him? This guy helped kill Russians and like even that stuff that would have, you know, nothing? Nothing of it.
SPEAKER_00Bro secured his spot, bro. For sure.
SPEAKER_03He was like that and the Americans.
SPEAKER_01It was like, shh, 007 for real, bro. None of it matters, bro. None of it matters. It didn't, bro. It was all a DD campaign.
SPEAKER_00Uh, you know what? I'd have been cool if that haven't ended at the end of the day. It was definitely a DD campaign.
SPEAKER_01There was an episode of I do like the idea that at the end of that scene, the DD scene. Uh huh. The next generation goes down there and plays DD. Yeah. I thought it was a good pass.
SPEAKER_03That's something that made me mad. They were already hyping up their next series for whatever the fuck this is after Stranger Things. Before Stranger Things was even over. And they're like, the rock that Vecna had is is pertinent to the very story of the next thing that we're doing.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah.
Conspiracy Theories And “Secret Episode”
SPEAKER_03The spin-offs in the work. So we're like, for what? And I'm like, you're recording that story while doing this story too? That's not now, bro. I'd rather watch Fallout.
SPEAKER_01I'd rather watch Fallout. Fallout 100%. I'd rather watch Fallout. Bro, Fallout is so good. Yeah, man. Everybody was mad about the Declaws talking taking over. I thought it was awesome. It makes sense because one of the missions is for you to take a Deck Claw act to New Vegas. Oh, you played the games, they're gonna go slow.
SPEAKER_03Look at you. I was like, that was such a deep cut reference. Where the fuck did that come from?
SPEAKER_02You remember that mission, dude? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00In our previous episode, we talked about Fallout Season 1. I did bring it up that in the sequel, well, the Death Claws is part of your campaign. Because they're highly intelligent, a few of them, and they speak properly. But at the end of the day, Suki, what were your thoughts on uh stranger things? Uh mediocre season, man. I can't wait to wrap it up.
SPEAKER_01We're just gonna tease Fallout.
SPEAKER_03I wasn't listening. I thought he asked me, not Suki. Don't even listen to us. Anyway, guys, hey, we love this episode. I hope you guys come back for the next Fallout one that we're gonna be talking about. Yeah.
