Hell, yes, I love it. The Big H. Shout out to everybody in Houston the age that survived that tornado. Yeah, valentine, just started spitting fire and a storm happened bro.

Merc

Can you believe that it's hurricane season? I mean man, it's wild huh.

Oski

Spitting rhymes over 80 miles per hour.

xFer

I hope everyone is safe, though I hope everyone is safe yeah.

Merc

I hope everyone is safe.

xFer

Yes, I know everybody is playing this right now in gallery furniture, right now.

Merc

I really hope that you're not a gallery furniture already and you made it out.

Oski

I really hope you're getting your power power back same. That's right, because I know joel's my boy thank you for sponsoring this hashtag too soon.

xFer

Don't touch my doors not my blue suede carpet anyway but yeah, man, that's how you show that we show love to houston man and uh, we show love to one of our houston locals, man.

Big Xodia

So tell us about uh pretty much how it came about your career man I used to be, uh, I used to be bullied a lot, you know, growing up, yeah, um, there was nothing really special about me. Um, I would say, you know, crazy family. You know, waking up, nothing really is there. And um, I used to have headphones and you know I used to listen, listen to music and at one time, you know, I started listening to Tech N9ne.

xFer

Yeah, yeah for West Coast.

Big Xodia

I loved what he did. I love what he does, you know, especially rapping, and I think at the time a song called Look At Me Now, featuring Chris Brown, came out you know and I was on the bus.

xFer

The classic yeah with him and Busta, look at me now.

Big Xodia

Yeah. So that came out and then a lot of people like, hey, maybe they'll leave you alone if you learn how to do this. So I learned how to do it.

Big Xodia

It was easy, you know you feel me and word, yeah, damn yeah, I think, uh, I started doing music when I moved back to houston from maryland and took off into it. I hooked up with my homie ghoulish. You know, I met some amazing people along the way. Shout out to ghoulish, yeah, ghoulish, ghoulish, edm music, you know. Shout out to him. Uh, we started with pretty much nothing. Then we met hippie low. Um, you know, shout out, hippie low, we, we met him. Then we met, uh, symbiotic jay over there when we went back to maryland for the psycho circus show, you know. And then I met sms beats. You know, crazy, dope, cool, cool dude, you know, uh, shout out, ukraine, of course, um, and then I met my homie, uh rex visuals, I would say a little bit before hippie low, and we did, uh, this dorito challenge. I bust the rhymes and I don't even know what I'm already making their snack.

Big Xodia

I'm gonna be getting it back while the readers be making it, or?

Merc

like something like that. That's fucking cool.

Big Xodia

So it's just a lot of connections, connections and networks, you know. And then I met some amazing people omni truth, of course, h town drip. You know, I'll always wear that limitless you know, I got that on, you feel me and you know, we taking over, we taking over, taking over fire man I love it.

xFer

So how is the scene in maryland like? How long were you in maryland?

Merc

yeah, the dmv man you out there, I see you, I see you.

Oski

I haven't heard that in a while and it's been a while, sorry, I spent two months in maryland one time, and you know what was the culture shock for me? Huh, no trucks out there no, nothing.

Merc

No, no, no. Yeah, we're talking shit. Basement parties. Are her go down bro?

Big Xodia

the styling of the housing and architecture is very different. Yeah, it's like totally different, right like yeah yeah, only thing I don't miss is the snow.

Merc

Yeah, garbage bro I can imagine no thanks, shoveling that shit yeah and schools and council, you still gotta go, huh uh schools.

Big Xodia

Yeah, yeah, we didn't have to go, but like covid messed everything over because now the people probably have to do, like uh, virtual we used to have snow days up north, bro.

Merc

They used to a lot like what like at least two weeks worth of snow days right plus, yeah like that was digging into our um, what is it?

Big Xodia

summer vacation? Yeah, yeah, you were eating to that shit.

Merc

but they're like ah, you know time off, but now, yeah, now that everything's virtual, you're fucked, buddy. Better log into that Zoom.

xFer

And was it Maryland where you just started to pursue your career in your name, or how did that go about?

Big Xodia

Sort of or the and stuff like that.

Merc

But I was really actually into smash bros I used to run uh smash, uh smash tournaments at the washington county I used to.

Big Xodia

I used to be there smashing to this day I'm saying but yeah, I used to run tournaments and everything like that. And then, um, the library did some, uh, talent shows or something like that, and um, I, I chose a couple nfs. This was when nf was starting to become big oh, shit, yeah, yeah, yeah and then real came out.

Big Xodia

I'm looking like I'm gonna get it you probably don't get it to come with your husband microphone looking about it to set up a show in your kitchen, like I was doing that when I was like 15, 16 years old, you know, doing these talent shows with that shit.

Merc

So that's really fucking impressive thank you, thank you.

Big Xodia

it blew away a lot of people and then, once I turned 18, I did the last talent show. I knew I was going to win, but I had to move over here to Houston to pursue what I wanted go to school, take care of what I needed and meet my father.

Merc

Oh wow.

Big Xodia

Yeah, so I moved here and then started doing it 100%.

xFer

Damn Okay, because the, because the scene in Houston is pretty much still alive, like since the days of like a DJ Screw present like even to the day, like if it was Houston, I would I would say, uh, houston helped Drake like establish a platform in the US. Like I can see like Houston being like an area like they used to be the west coast, I imagine. Now it's like houston houston yeah do you have any favorite rappers out here in the houston area?

Oski

I do as much I can't name them uh g zero.

Big Xodia

Yeah, yeah, bro zero was definitely g fats. Uh, mr, never die. Omni truth. Uh, callie cruz man, I keep jamming my song that came out with him on the back rooms. Cali Cruz, joe Phoenix man, there's so many people. I love Hippie Lo, especially like he's an engineer, but him as a rapper, he just doesn't understand. This goes out to you, hippie Lo.

Big Xodia

Make music bro. Step up man. But there is so much talent. I worked with most rappers. I I love bun b uh, paul wall uh slim thug. You know there's so much like in h town and it's not. It doesn't sound the same. You know it doesn't sound like this person sounds like this person sounds like this person is so um culturally like just magnified.

xFer

Yes, you know what I'm saying.

Big Xodia

So there's so many different sounds, you know, but I, I, I love all the artists here in Houston. There's so much amazing talent, you know, and especially the ones I didn't shout out. I'm sorry, I'm probably like blanking right now. I worked with a lot of artists as well, so pretty much just to say anyone who's from here that I have on the track, yazzie. So pretty much just to say anyone who's from here that I have on the track.

Merc

Yazzie, nicole, you know I'm trying to think as well, but a lot of people, a lot of people I have here that I worked with, can I ask you, has there been, like any, any Houston influence in your music since you came from, from Maryland, obviously, down here, down south?

Oski

That's what I was going to say, because I mean listen to your tracks. You could clearly tell there's a Houston sound in there. You could hear the Houston influence.

Big Xodia

Yes, so I start with a little bit of Houston terminology. Not a lot, but I feel like the more I hear Houston sounds, you know is, the more I incorporate it into my music. You know just the parts of it that I like, you know I'm still working on um how to put like chop and screw, but at the same time I love chameleon air I love chameleon and I love its harmonization with everything, and I just like to incorporate that into my music whenever I find a chance.

Big Xodia

But I don't know. I would have to take a look into my music because mostly um, I'm not even gonna lie the way I write is I write it to sound dope. So imagine like sonic the hedgehog right, you know how he traverses, like cities, rails and everything like that style imagine the rails and the city and every place he's running at the beat and then me on the beat you put it down people to get the crown. You, you film it like I chop and and I that's very fucking cool but to answer your question it's like a sonic music game.

Oski

I do, I'm like you remember those old school games Power Pie, the Rapper, power Pie, the Rapper Power Pie the Rapper was that like the dog.

Merc

It was a rhythm game.

Oski

It was like the dog who had the. It was a rhythm game.

xFer

Yeah, it was a rhythm game to the game.

Merc

Yeah, that was it right, it was like the dog who had like the mic, right yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, I know what. Yeah, yeah, yeah, random, that was like I didn't even get it so I was like the only game I could think about anything from music related that's old, is that?

Oski

I'm like is that what you're talking about bro.

Oski

That was fucking that's a good man. You brought it back with that shit, jesus. Anyway, sorry about that.

Merc

No man. So Yu-Gi-Oh, what got you into Yu-Gi-Oh I?

Big Xodia

guess Yu-Gi-Oh, I don't know. I found some cards on the floor one day and I was like what the heck is this, what now?

Oski

Yeah, magician and a dinosaur deck, what and ever since? That's why you got bullied, the real reason was, I ran a fan base.

Big Xodia

Yeah, that's hilarious no but I also played magic as well.

Big Xodia

I ran a slither deck yeah, but yugioh just was just there was something that I can escape to, something that was like not bounding to the, to what I was going through, especially as a youngin, you know an individual. Um, it just was like an escape for me. You know, just playing it and collecting all the cards is pretty much why I did. I never really went to locals or anything like that, but I loved collecting cards. I love how they look, I like the art, you know the, the bios, you know, especially on the cards, without effects on it.

Oski

I loved it. Yeah, so that's something you miss about the old yu-gi-oh, yeah, no card effects, the bios on there, yeah, so the cards had like stories yeah, that was really cool.

Merc

They had like connections to each other you know, what I really like is when there's there's the people that find like the same similar cards and they break down the lore in between the imagery have you seen those?

Oski

that's so fucking cool. So many cars are all connected yeah, um, what is it?

Big Xodia

the buddy force?

Merc

and harpy ladies yeah, I have connections to that. You know, that's something I didn't know. That's really dope.

Big Xodia

Yeah, I think the harpy ladies hunt the buddy people the red and the blue I

Merc

know, this fuck, I didn't know.

Oski

That's really dope. I think the Harpy ladies hunt the buddy people, the red and the blue I didn't know that there's a card called Hunting Grounds. I feel dumb because I've seen that card plenty of times and I've never fucking done it.

Big Xodia

It's random stuff like that I feel like all of it's connected in some way.

Oski

My pitch was they need to make a Yu yu-yu anime series about the monster stories.

Merc

There was some game or or lore or videography that they're trying to do it, because I follow them on on twitter or whatever and they were starting to do something for some of the cards where, like, they had some entrances or background story or interesting things like that which I thought were very, very cool, and I'm like, oh shit, is this what Yu-Gi-Oh is going to go to?

xFer

now.

Merc

We're going to start going on the lore route for everybody. You know different worlds for all these fucking characters, and then crossover.

Big Xodia

I hope so, because this XYZ and Pendulum I stopped after that.

Oski

I was like this is too much.

Big Xodia

I'm still a Yu-Gi-Oh fan.

Oski

But, like you said, I'm just a collector. I just collect the cards. But I love Yu-Gi-Oh, we got the Millennium Puzzle.

Merc

Facts and not just any.

xFer

That's the hand-built one bro, you had to build that one, yu-gi-oh's actual one Straight from Egypt right there. Yes, sir.

Oski

We discovered the secrets of the pharaoh.

xFer

What was her name? The very beautiful girl from Egypt, which one Farrah? What was her name? Cleopatra.

Merc

Right here.

xFer

Papa.

Oski

We got Dark Magician Girl up on the wall.

Merc

We can't show you. Yeah, but we got so much love for Dark Magician Girl. Six different variations it's not weird.

Oski

But when did that name come up, big Exodia? Was it early in your career?

Merc

I want to know why Exodia, why not Obelisk?

Oski

Why not Raw? Or did you go through a few names and find?

Big Xodia

out. I went through a few names.

Merc

What were the failures? What were the ones?

Big Xodia

that didn't work out. Failures end up here right now.

Merc

What were the possibilities?

xFer

The.

Big Xodia

Dark Magician's pimp, you know small kariba, little kariba, he also tried the well-endowed kariba.

Oski

Um, some of the the names man uh wounded wounded.

Big Xodia

Yeah, wounded was one.

xFer

And then I wanted to do pharaoh and then that was cool, it was cool yeah, like pharaoh is cool, but there's like 98 000.

Merc

There are a lot of pharaohs. There are a lot of pharaohs dang.

Big Xodia

And then I went on to Big X and I liked it, but then there was like this guy in Egypt or something like that, and then I was like wait a minute wait a minute, wait a minute. Something's clicking, Something's clicking. And then suddenly I was watching reruns of Yu-Gi-Oh and I was just like big exodia but. I didn't want the e because I was scared of copyright and stuff yeah yeah, so now I established this brand so I was like big exodia, you know. Yeah you feel me.

Big Xodia

So then that's what came to be. I wanted to do obelisk.

Oski

I was like just damn that would have been cool fuck, but big exodia.

Big Xodia

I loved it, I felt it. I like the x, I like the yo, the, the logo of it, and if you look on my logo, it actually is like a form of sonic with two masks it's just like it connects so much with like yugioh and like the creatures and my love for video games and it just connects a lot with me and who I am.

Merc

That is very fucking cool. It came to be Big Exodia. I love that. That's fucking dope. That is really fucking cool. Thank you, thank you, nice, yeah, I know in your songs you have geeky references.

Big Xodia

I love that you have some nerdy references in there.

Big Xodia

Did you really want to put that influence on your music? Yes, yes, yes, uh. Uh, there was this one verse I just came out with flow with the wicked, get with the vision like james bond. It's a mission. Got a game on human torch, flame on pepper breath like a good mom about to digivolve and record. You could call it gray mon, a son. You you know what I'm saying, but like who can actually do that? Like chop, add nerd reference, make it still sound cool at the same time. But the nerds can really understand what am I saying?

xFer

Yeah, what is?

Big Xodia

he, he's connecting this, that and the third. You know like how is? He doing that? Only the true ones will understand what.

Oski

I'm saying, but it still sounds cool, you're a real fan, bro.

Merc

Damn fucking the album.

Big Xodia

Yeah, that's just a small, small thing that's a small part of the song you know I created that whole album, the back rooms, and after I saw level zero I was like I'm in love with it, I'm loving it, I'm loving it. You know so liminal spaces, you know I love it and I still incorporate you know nerd stuff into it because I love that. Culture man, I love it. You know how can you compare, you know stuff that um saitama does? Culture man, I love it. You know how can you compare, you know stuff that um saitama does to stuff in the real, you know real world stuff yeah, yeah you can't.

Big Xodia

He does stuff that's credibly, like you know, does high feats yeah you can't you can't find a terminology to describe what he does, you know. So I mean, that is a reference in itself is crazy, and you know whoever says otherwise. You know, I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah.

Merc

So let me ask you, man, what really brought on the fast rapping for you? Was it the influence from Tech N9ne? Is that what it was, tech N9ne, when I heard Tech N9ne it was like follow me.

Big Xodia

I'll run the planet, I'll run the game. I know psychology. Take an minute, because it got to be like just oh my gosh, man, no one can tell, no one can say that this man is not dope. There's like a hundred percent, like no one can say anything about this dude. You know flowing, you know or twister I would say, twister is another one.

xFer

Yeah, I love twister.

Big Xodia

yeah, you know nothing about nf, you know nothing about hobson or anything like that. These people are going and they cannot be stopped. It was like da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da and I want to do that. So I practiced day and night. Day and night I put on that Worldwide Chopper song. It went times 1.4 speed and I was just going until failure. But then I learned how to do it easily. So I'm able to do it like easily, so I'm able to do it like super, super fast.

Oski

We can see it. Man, yeah, man, really fucking, how many words per minute is that?

Big Xodia

I don't even know I counted how many syllables I did. I think I do seven words.

xFer

A second Let me see that's like nine words and like .50.

Big Xodia

I don't know, I don't know the math behind it. It's not mostly about the speed, it's about the pronunciation of the words while you're going that fast. If not, then no one's going to understand.

Oski

Yeah, I was going to say because you got to go fast.

Big Xodia

Yeah, you got to go fast. You got to go fast, but I mean you also got to make sure that people understand what you're saying exactly otherwise it's no use.

Merc

Yeah, you're not fucking. Uh, what is it uh intelligible? Yeah, nobody can fucking make it what you're saying it kind of goes to a bus, but that's really that's a, that's a skill man thank you, that's a really really good skill.

Oski

Can you do the bus to rams for link?

Oski

I mean now yeah, I, I can't we'll play the beat.

Oski

We'll play the beat for you. I can try.

Big Xodia

I can try. Yeah, but you can go ahead. I can try. I don't remember the lyrics. We don't want to get taken off a copy, we just can't, let's go, because I feel like I run into the feeling that they got to get away. Get away, get away, but they don't, never won't. If it's time and they don't get away, I'm going to day-day. That's all I remember. I don't remember the rest. So can I ask you the courage a?

xFer

fuego hat bro, I saw it and I was like that's cool.

Merc

Courage the Cowardly Dog.

xFer

And the side is like the scared.

Merc

Wait, is it the scary version? I've only saw the Cartoon Network symbol on the other side Over here, you're scared. Let me see the other side, the scary side.

Big Xodia

That's cool as fuck, I believe my homie, brian Candy yeah, brian Candy made this. Well, he's not really my homie, but I consider him like that because the dope content I just relate to it so much. But, anyways, Brian Candy made it.

Oski

Shut up, brian Candy. Shut up, shut up, Brian Candy. This is amazing.

Big Xodia

We want more hats we need three.

xFer

I need a.

Big Xodia

Sonic one.

Merc

I need a Sonic one. A Sonic one.

Big Xodia

But Brian Candy came out with this hat and I was like look, I love Limitless, I love this brand. I want you to make me a purple shirt, eduardo, shout out homie Eduardo from Limitless. But I wanted him to make me a purple shirt so I can wear this and wear this and do a couple photo shoots.

Merc

I haven't done the photo shoots yet. But hey, you guys are getting the first fit.

Oski

Look, shout out to Limitless Right here Can we get some shirts too.

Merc

Anyway, man, it looks great. I really love the fucking. I don't know what that's embroidering. I don't know what you would consider that to be. The stitching on it looks fucking awesome. It looks like a really good quality hat.

Big Xodia

It's really well put together. It is a very good quality hat.

Merc

That looks awesome. Man. Do is a very good quality hat. That looks awesome, man. Do you like Courage? A lot Is that one of your favorites.

Oski

He was found by a miracle With a husband you stand back.

Merc

That shit was hilarious.

Oski

That was fucking hilarious Did you see, they came up with a mini game. I think I saw that.

Big Xodia

A horror game too. It's a horror game.

Merc

You gotta survive.

xFer

You know what it reminded me? Alien Isolation of here.

Oski

You gotta survive, like what you know, what it reminded me you know alien isolation, where you gotta hide from the alien it's basically that, but you're in the farmhouse. You gotta hide in the shower from the fucking monster what?

Big Xodia

and I think he can still use the computer right.

Oski

Yeah, for real yeah he can use the flashlight, the computer. Can I get some help?

Oski

Stop asking me stupid questions.

xFer

What do you mean?

Merc

Why are you being so rude? I don't have time for stupid Doug Like. No, she was fucking cute.

xFer

If you think about it, that computer was your original chat GPT.

Merc

Bro, yeah yeah, way ahead of its time, way ahead of its time. Kyle already had that chat.

Oski

GP40 already.

Merc

Bro, we're working on .4, you know it, we're working on .4,.

xFer

You know that was ahead of its time, bro.

Merc

Way ahead of its time. That was hilarious.

xFer

So who won? Drake or Kendrick? Bro, Kendrick, 100% Kendrick, Thank you for casting.

Music Production and Southern Lifestyle

Big Xodia

I'm creating some crazy stuff, Dang. I wish I could play the audio. Can I play the audio?

Oski

in here. Yeah, all right.

Big Xodia

Shout out SMS, is it?

Oski

BBL Jeezy beats. You want to connect to the Bluetooth.

Big Xodia

It's right here, because I don't want people to hear it yet.

Oski

But just know it's almost done. We got an SMS beats, oh it's going down, hold on, hold on.

Big Xodia

If you know what song this is combined with the other song, oh my gosh.

Merc

All right, hold on Watch. Oh my gosh, hey, that's a fucking banger.

Big Xodia

Hold on watch. Yeah, we ain't playing. I got some names to put down.

Oski

I got some names.

Big Xodia

I'm putting down on here. I got some names I'm putting down on here.

Merc

Yo, that's a banger right there. Put a summer right there. Huh, that's a summer banger right there. I'm calling it right now.

Oski

Do you work on the beats yourself or no?

Big Xodia

no, I have uh multiple producers, uh symbiotic j ghoulish edm, uh sms beats and on my homie, omni truth, he makes beats as well. Um, I just get them from a lot, um a lot of people. Uh, bunny cash beats um proud by tokyo, probably it's nil you know. So I have a large variety of where I can get my beats from, but mostly sms beats. Symbiotic j right that's awesome.

xFer

Shout out.

Merc

Shout out to symbiotic do they have socials at uh?

Big Xodia

symbiotic j is just symbiotic j and uh, sms beats on pretty much all platforms, I believe so look them up, go check them out, guys, show some love yeah, so how does how does that go about it?

xFer

like you go to a studio or like uh?

Big Xodia

you got an at-home studio or wait for, like the beat making or for the to record uh both so to record, I go to my homie, one of my close homies, number one. I wouldn't have anyone else do it. Hippie low, um, shout out hippie low. For real, he's a. He's a dope rapper. We keep trying to tell him he needs to rap but he's not listening if you're watching yeah, um so hippie low, he's my one and only engineer number one. We're gonna hit the top you know, with him.

Big Xodia

You know we're gonna go to infinity and beyond you know music business real talk 100 sms beats and everything like that. You know, sometimes I send them a sample. Sometimes he's just like hey, I made this banger kill it. I'm like yeah you know, yeah, symbiotic jay, you know he can remake anything that I hear um. He can just remake it, you know, and very skilled at it. So, but studio hippie low um beat making. You know, I just hit up one of my homies.

Oski

Boom, it's done, that's it weren't it was like that man yeah, I always appreciate the, the producers that make the beats, because it takes it's a real skill, like it's a real talent to like hear it and like come up with it in the moment, you know, with the drums yeah, it's just wow match the tempo and like put it all together at the end to come up with the final product. It's a real talent. I really appreciate the producer.

Merc

I'm assuming you write all your shit as well. I write it, man. That's amazing.

xFer

No ghost writers here, no ghost writers?

Big Xodia

No ghost writers.

xFer

If Drake was like yo, bro, I need you to ghost write for me, would you do it? That's a yes.

Oski

Do I like money?

Merc

Yeah, do I like money.

Oski

Oh yeah, fuck, yeah, it would be hard though I don't know his style.

xFer

It would be hard, bro. He'll steal it. He'll steal it right after bro. Hey minor, hey minor.

Big Xodia

I wouldn't want to be associated. Yeah, see, not anymore, sorry.

Merc

Maybe before.

Big Xodia

Yeah, maybe before.

xFer

I'll go to your Diddy party bro. If you're going to have a vacation, bro, I'll take it, bro, I'll pass, I'll pass, I'll be a little camera You're going to say hashtag?

Oski

no, Diddy bro.

xFer

Hashtag yes, diddy, no, no, no, no, no, that shit, I'm trying to remember the name of that rapper that we used to party with here in.

Oski

Houston Forgot his name, but he was Swisher House. Swisher House, yeah, swisher House.

xFer

Do you like anybody from Swisher House?

Big Xodia

I don't I honestly don't know who's in Swisher House at the moment. I've been too focused on a lot of my stuff.

Merc

I don't know who's doing what right now. Can I ask you what was one of your first Houston songs? They influenced you. You were like I gotta put this shit in here. This is whatever I'm doing right now. This has gotta be a part of it, bill.

Big Xodia

Collector by Chameleon Air that's a fucking man. Mr Bill Collector. He's coming for ya, bro. Insane alright insane.

Merc

Well, I can hear it. I can still hear like the East Coast slang in your talk, but but like there's definitely the southern mix up as well.

Big Xodia

Yeah the twang.

Merc

So I'm like, do you go back to Maryland a lot and to the East Coast?

Big Xodia

Yeah, visit my family that's over there.

Merc

Okay, so you see the family out there and whatnot.

Big Xodia

My mom, brothers, sisters, you know.

xFer

Okay, any of them like Houston or want to come to Houston.

Big Xodia

I don't think so.

xFer

There's the heat, bro, the tornadoes.

Merc

That's it, anybody that has cold weather. When they come down here they're like fuck y'all do this we're like bro, it's only 85.

Oski

Understandable. The sun is hot, it's not even summer, summer.

xFer

This isn't even hot, hot. We're not at the 120s yet.

Oski

The fact that, like well, it probably wasn't 70, but it's 100% humidity, it feels like 89.

Merc

Well, I hate that. Anything down south is like you got to say it twice to be for real about it.

Oski

Like is it hot or is it hot, hot I mean, is it cold or is it cold cold?

Merc

Yeah, I thought about that.

xFer

Are you leaving Like right?

Merc

now or right now. Right now.

xFer

Like right now, right now right now.

Merc

Are you going to be there later or later? Later.

Big Xodia

Same shit, bro. It's fucking hot out there. It's hot, hot out there. One thing I can never get used to is everything is so far away, like 30 minutes away. Oh yeah, okay, the.

Merc

East Coast. Yeah, you can walk everywhere.

Big Xodia

Yeah, we can walk everywhere.

Merc

Anywhere. You can go downstairs and fucking 10 steps. There's a fucking, you know a gazebo or whatever. I don't know what's the word Bodega? I don't know what the fuck is bodega? My homie Bodega's kicking it Anyway.

xFer

No man here, bro, you need. Like you know, you got to go by two farms.

Merc

Yeah.

xFer

When we say corner store.

Merc

I'm like no, you're not. That's not a corner store For all our viewers throughout the nation.

Oski

We're in Houston when we say we're going be a comic palooza in houston. That's 45 minutes away.

Merc

It's a legit drive.

Merc

Comic palooza at the georgia reclamation center, 45 minutes across the city that's right, ladies and gentlemen, and when we say we go to the corner store, we mean at least five to ten minutes facts, but uh, but no man. So like, well, how big of an adjustment was that coming from east, from the east coast to down south, like people hold the door open for you. Now you know like, yeah, was that like from the East Coast to down South, people hold the door open for you. Now Was that weird to get used to?

Big Xodia

No, not exactly. The weirdest thing ever was just like.

Merc

We didn't have horses. I know, bro, it's disappointing, just the clothing.

Big Xodia

The clothing is different.

Merc

Oh yeah, your style versus our style. Yeah, that's a major major. We're late on everything.

Big Xodia

We would put joggers on major. We're late on everything. We would put joggers on you know, match the hat with the shirt, with the pants, with the shoes.

Merc

You know, I don't know if they do it, motherfuckers, don't give up, man. They come out here in six different colors two different color shoes and socks, still with swag.

Merc

It's the swag there, though no no, no, I'm not saying everybody, I'm just saying like, but but the way the way that people care about fashion down here is not the way they care about it up there, and it's a different style as well as far as fashion goes too Like. I remember when I bought a fucking. Do you remember when White Blazers was a shit Back in the day?

Oski

White Blazers, if you didn't have a White Blazers, you wouldn't pop in. The problem was, White Blazers were never this shit bro.

Merc

Yes, they were, you just don't know.

xFer

I miss the ones where they had like Bugs Bunny and shit, the gangsta Bugs Bunny, like airbrushed, all that.

Oski

Oh yeah, Bro those were sick.

xFer

They had a watch and shit, and they were stacked and I was like, yeah, bro, I used to be Emmy. Like they got that shit on. Bro, I like them.

Oski

We all had one, bro yeah.

Merc

It's just like the other silence no man, but down south here it was like $2.

xFer

You know, over the letters and over time, like that, red just became pink to white.

Oski

But it's still such a good shirt that you keep wearing it.

Merc

It's a white tee bros.

Oski

What? It's? Just a white tee.

Merc

I'm going to wear it until.

Oski

I'm a senior, bought that shirt in freshman year Wore it until I was a senior.

Merc

He about in eighth grade Getting ready for high school. Baby, this is my year. This is my summer shirt.

Oski

Bully no more.

Merc

I'm just kidding.

xFer

I want my J's.

Merc

Can I ask you, man, like truck? Do you have a truck right now?

Big Xodia

I have a shit box. Oh good Word, yeah a 95 Chevy garbage. Nah, bro, those are the ones that like built to last though, bro one of my experiences with the truck. My father's gonna be laughing at this because this was the worst thing ever. Um one of my wires were touching ground my starter wire was touching ground.

Big Xodia

So every time I go to turn it on you it goes da-da-da, my gosh man. And then it got worse because I went to AutoZone and I fixed the wires, went to AutoZone, got a starter and it was on my warranty, because you know lifetime warranty on starters. They gave me a starter for a C10. It was like this big.

Oski

I didn't question nothing because I was like, look, I need to go put this on the works. My start is this big. They gave me this big start.

Big Xodia

And I put that bitch on the bitch.

Merc

I fit it on.

Oski

Man, you always got to question AutoZone.

Merc

Oh my, yeah, yeah, yeah, if they're working on AutoZone, I'm going to look at you twice and be like this part never don't match, though. I don't want the aftermarket, bro, I want the original the autos that was here are crazy, bro.

Big Xodia

They looked me in my face and I have my truck parked outside. They looked me in my face. I'm like, hey, I need to get a what was it? A EGR valve for my truck. And they're like, okay, year 95. And they're like model GMC, you know, gmc 1500. A GMC 1500. Like, sir, that the car doesn't exist.

Merc

I'm like, okay, what am I driving outside? What is that? This car doesn't use Google.

xFer

Google this for me my car disappeared. Whoa Strange.

Big Xodia

Crazy. You know that's funny, but um, yeah, so the starter kept the starter starter starter wheel kept getting stuck on the flywheel. So it's going, you know, yes and then no, yes and no because it will leave me in awkward places, I'll go to turn it on.

Merc

I'm like, oh my gosh man, it's so bro, it's the worst but I love because you know there was at least an attempt where he's like yeah, I got this.

Big Xodia

I was dropping and putting on starters for like a week. I can do that in my sleep. I don't even need a jacket, I just go in the neighborhood.

xFer

Bro, not even looking. I did this shit so much I remember my first car.

Oski

My first car had a starter problem at one point, and every time I went to start it it was always a prayer you know, come on, I can't be late today. Come on, bessie. Come on Bessie. Her name was Daphne.

Oski

Diggy, diggy, diggy, diggy, diggy diggy, diggy, diggy, diggy. Yeah, let's fucking go, let's go, let's go.

xFer

Turn on the AC, put the music up.

Merc

That would be the fuck to put that. Tickety, tickety, tickety, tickety, tickety, tickety, tickety, tickety, tickety, tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety.

Oski

Tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety, tickety, tickety tickety tickety.

xFer

Tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety tickety. Tick, that'd be tight, bro, I would buy that album.

Merc

Just for the cover, just from nostalgia for the cover. I'd buy the cover. Or just the starter, just a pile of starters. This goes hard. You know what I mean, that's an album.

Big Xodia

I'm not responsible for your audio system.

Merc

Shit that'd be great, I'm not responsible for your audio system, bro, I would fucking, I would buy that you know if I have car problems again.

Car Troubles and Fire Incident

Oski

that's the song I play before I start. Start of issues.

Big Xodia

Bitch starts off good luck, sean, I used to come outside, because it's an old school block so you have to warm it up. So I would go outside and try to start it and go, and then this lady's like hey, you need help you, okay. What are you going to do, bitch?

Merc

Twisting my hand. You going to yank the bell for me, bitch, that's so aggressive.

Oski

Sorry bro.

Merc

She gets on my nerves.

Oski

She's a nice old lady.

Oski

Quit being nosy bitch, that's right.

xFer

What the fuck is she going?

Oski

to do? You know damn well, you can't help me with shit the fuck. What the fuck she gonna do? God damn. You know damn well, you can't help me with shit the fuck you know why she wanted to hear him say I'm sorry this is what I'm saying.

Merc

This motherfucker has had some real starter issues bro I'm telling you she just wanted to hear him say what's the problem? I don't know. I don't know he'd be like starter issues. See, fucking knew it. I knew it. Good luck with that Fucking. That's the shit I'm talking about. That's the point, my boy, how it would've went down. What are you gonna do if you got the car from me? Do me a favor. You might get underneath the car like the whole pants right there. I'm just gonna drain that shit from you. I'll be back. My homeboy said he's going to be here with a truck. Oh, man.

Big Xodia

Oh shit, I've been through so much with that truck.

xFer

I need your life alert to connect the bitch. Hold on it caught on fire.

Big Xodia

It caught on fire, bro, wait, wait, wait, wait so okay, so these people are good at hooking up sound systems, but they hooked up a sound system and for some reason this goes into details.

Big Xodia

If this goes into details, if you know, you know. But my starter cable, um, uh, what is it? Uh, the terminal broke while I was on my way to the uh, to the sound system people. So they put on a plastic silicone one on it to start my truck and I left it on it while I was driving and then it melted everything and I caught on fire. I fixed the wires and everything. I caught on fire first time I ever used this fire extinguisher. You know, put it back together. Everything's fine now.

Merc

You know this was after the start of the issue, so wait, did you get where you were going? Whenever you were, the shit caught on fire.

Big Xodia

I was halfway back, oh man, I was listening to music, and then it started going, and then I just see smoke coming out of my mouth Black smoke, white smoke, coming through that shit, everything from the hood, everything I pulled over, you know, sprayed it down and this child, I don't know, this Spanish couple had their child in the back, so he pulled up beside me. Would you like some water? You know what I was like keep it coming. Keep it coming. I need to put this out. So after that, that happened.

Merc

And I need to put this out.

Big Xodia

So after that that happened, and then my fuel relay went out the other day, so I was driving down the road, it was like, and it was silent, oh man.

Merc

Oh my God, Look, brother, I'm going to pray for you all right.

xFer

Please Pray for the truck I'm going to pray for the truck Just got to keep on pushing, no more problems. That's what I want for you. Bitch leaves you alone. I was gonna ask for help. Maybe ask for a bottle of water, god damn it, I just wanna see this truck see look that's the bitch that leaves you alone.

Merc

Hey, hey you want some water more understandable and the bitch you need some help shut up, damn right, still not allowed.

xFer

It makes sense, cause I was gonna be like, no, I'm good. Okay, you know, like I would've fought for it, I would have fought for it.

Merc

No, but it's a, it's a good truck.

Big Xodia

It is a very good truck, um, it's a, it's a classic, it's a gmc sidestep. I mean I love the truck. It has a lot of power, a lot of torque in it and it's been in my uh, my dad's family for a little bit so I love it, man, that's a very good truck. No one messes with me on the road with it. I'll tell you that until the truck messes with me.

Merc

Hey man, look, that's the only problem that you got. Like I said, fuck it, just keep it pushing.

Big Xodia

I'm gonna pray for you, you'll be all right you're gonna keep it pushing, yeah, all right, moving forward, yeah moving forward.

Oski

Going back to your sound, sorry bro, sorry man.

Merc

Those uh yeah great stories though, man, these are the ones that count, the hilarious ones, you know.

Oski

When you look back at your career, that's got to be the name of your next album, bro. You got to make it happen. Your next single, bro, starter issues.

Merc

Can you just drop that line on there?

Oski

Motherfucking starter, Like okay, not motherfucker, but starter issues. You know what I mean. That'd be hilarious. Put the.

Merc

That'd be cool.

Oski

Say less. This is for the WBM boys.

Merc

All right, let's leave this man alone about his truck.

Oski

So I do want to ask well, I was going to say your sound, do you feel like? Because how long have you been doing this I've been doing this for seven years now.

Merc

Oh seven years.

Big Xodia

I just turned 25.

Big Xodia

Nice man, do you feel like your music has evolved over the years? Very, very, it evolves a lot, um, mostly because of my failures and sometimes because of my success, sometimes when I see different artists or um new tracks on the on the radio, you know, or whenever I pull up some new stuff. So I went all the way from uh back then, you know, make trying to make melodic songs, and then I had one of my first big shows. Then, um, I felt like I couldn't breathe so I lost a bunch of weight you know, started rapping faster, more more adequate and, you know, more, longer words.

Big Xodia

And then that went to um me finding some different artists, um, you know, paying attention to that, seeing what they cast into it. And then right now I'm at a level where funk and, uh, you know, harper, uh similar to um, suicide boys, yeah, stuff like that, yeah, um, so, incorporating a lot of different styles and unique, um, you know, I would say, just cultures into my music, is is happening yeah.

xFer

So like in those seven years, was it like the seven years you took it serious, or was it like it became a hobby and you're like you know what I'm going full in like in the beginning it was just to do it I.

Big Xodia

Always my main mission was to show that I could actually make something with that was my main thing, because no one believed in. And then, you know, I started gaining. You know, fans, I my big show, as I was saying. And then everything changed. My family started listening to more of my music and that's when it solidified. I'm doing it and I'm not turning back. This is going to be my career and I'm going to be on 100 with it After a little bit.

xFer

Just is going to be my career nice, nice what I'm paid for, yeah so it's so, you have a performance coming up yes, indeed, the 25th and 26th I'll be at comic palooza yes, sir yeah, it's going.

Big Xodia

it's going to be crazy because I'm doing my backrooms album with callie cruz. You know, shout out to Deacon, rap out there. We'll also have him on there as a set before the back rooms album and then I'll be on one of his sets doing three songs. Then after that I have my homie black tank. Oh yeah, that's another artist.

Big Xodia

I love a weather group but, black tank is going to come up, and then I'll be doing the nerd chord shopper rap show, chord shopper rap show, where I just, you know, spit my stuff 100. Then I have my homie omni truth coming up for the forbidden tracks and then I'll be doing the backroom set again.

xFer

Damn forbidden tracks sounds so cool. It does exactly like the forbidden one.

Big Xodia

So yeah, the forbidden card I just found out a name for my fans they're called the forbidden ones it goes hard, it goes hard it's cool as fuck. Business cards go hard logo hard logo super hard, like fan names hard music hard, the followers of big soviet.

Oski

They're forbidden can't argue with that what time are the performances like for coming on?

Big Xodia

saturday. Saturday is going to be 11 to 11 45 ballroom, Ballroom A. That's going to be for the first one. Then I'll be over there with Deacon Rap, 5 to 5.45. I'll do my three songs. He'll do the rest of the set. Then, Sunday, 12 to 12.45, I'll be over there back in BallroomA doing the Nerdcore show. And then 2 to 2.45 is going to be me Omni and we're doing the Forbidden Tracks along with the Backroom set.

Oski

Wow, man, that's dope.

Merc

Man, Damn you have a fucking full plate yeah.

Big Xodia

But I love it. I love every moment, I love to perform.

Oski

Have you performed at Comic Blues before? Yes, last year. Right, yeah, last year. How did it go last year?

Big Xodia

Last year it was it was my first solo time performing at a convention, I think, or maybe convention style, so I didn't know what to expect. You know, of course, you learn from your failures and you go on from there.

Big Xodia

I mean, we still killed it. I had my led hat like this. And then I, oh, sick man, yeah it was, it was crazy, and I cosplay as toad H, town toad that is. You could, uh, uh, cosplay toad. And I was just rapping so fast like, uh, I'm the elite. They give in the minute. Make it my venice. You got the world in my hand. Make it a lot of the boss. Give it across the show that off, having the people to take them off. Get with the wicked, the big and the bitch and get the one to give them all. And I've been using that as content damn man.

Merc

Yeah, that's fucking fire I'm excited man. It looks, it sounds, it'll be a great little set for you.

Oski

it's to be crazy sick, I like the idea that you say they're all learning experiences, every performance, every show, every time you go up on stage Every time you create a song is a learning experience that you can better yourself on.

Merc

Would you mind if I ask you one last question, brother? I did want to know you have a favorite anime, because I know that you're very busy. Your schedule obviously keeps you 100% jam-packed, yes, so having time to watch anime is rough for you. So I'm curious how do you manage to keep your raps so relevant with the anime, with the, with the pop culture, the nerd culture that's going on right now? Is it the, the lifetime of childhood that you have of reference to pull from? Is it stuff that you're seeing, just that's trending now in social media, like where do you get your that content from?

Big Xodia

some trending stuff, some memes, depending on what's popular. Um, I do watch anime every here, every now and then. My favorite one's, demon slayer oh nice nice. Shout out, ddkn. I can't speak on that project yet, but shout out to you oh geez, another easter egg for Easter egg, bro, wbm exclusive Exclusive.

Big Xodia

Yeah, but I mostly see stuff, I put it into rap, but I just know so much vocabulary, terminology, different things that happen in video games, anime, you know lore especially, and I just keep putting that in. If it makes sense, you know, I go ahead and put it in and go from there. Especially, sometimes I do research Like I'd say okay, what can I do, what can I put here that rhymes with this and make it make sense. I won't put anything that's random.

Merc

I love that man. That's fucking cool.

Oski

Yeah, I like it. Any other animes that you're watching right now, or any other favorite ones, any that you would recommend?

Big Xodia

A lot of people keep telling me to watch Jujutsu Kaisen. I have not.

Oski

I like it it's good, it's big animation.

Merc

Yeah, I mean visually. Yeah, like it's stunning.

xFer

Yes, I'll say that. Don't ask me what it's about.

Oski

If it tells you anything. The three of us have watched it, but the thing is like we're not impressed yeah we're not impressed. Yeah, like I hate that, we're all like yeah, I mean, it's good, it's not bad.

Merc

Yeah, we don't hate it. But then we'd be like bro, somebody told you about Steins Gate. Oh shit, Bro, that one Sorry. We were so excited to knock your shirt off. Bro. If you ever got time, watch Steins Gate. It's about time travel.

Oski

If you like a time travel anime, that's a sick-ass time travel anime, bro. Anyway, rap animes.

Merc

There's a few rap animes out there. Oh, there are.

Oski

Yeah, there are rap animes, bro. What's a rap anime? Symphonic Something?

Merc

Let us know in the comments.

xFer

That's right, guys, let us know.

Oski

Merc

Oski

yeah right, very, very cool man, it's kind of cool because they're rapping Japanese.

Merc

Which I think is just that. Shit is hard as fuck. I wouldn't doubt it Sounds sick, though.

Oski

Trap-a-do. K-pop Trap music, but trap I do real trap shit I just randomly did I just

Oski

thought but it's in japan, so at the end we'll be like whoa, hey, uh, big x.

Merc

Why don't you let people know where they can go and find you Before we wrap?

xFer

it up.

Oski

Before we wrap it up, do you want to like drop a full verse?

Big Xodia

Oh, say less, Say less. Say less, say less. Let's do it.

Oski

I mean I could play a little Hard to see. You want to paint the town red, let's do that let's do that.

Merc

What's that instrumental?

Big Xodia

Paint the town red instrumental. Yeah, I just did. Let's do that. What's that instrumental? The Painted Town Red instrumental. I just did something like that.
